Emmanuel De Moor is Associate Professor with the Advanced Steel Processing and Products Research Center in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department at the Colorado School of Mines. He received his undergraduate, MS and PhD degrees in Materials Engineering from the University of Ghent, Belgium. He joined the Colorado School of Mines in 2008. His research interests pertain to physical metallurgy of ferrous alloys and understanding interrelationships between properties, microstructure, alloying and processing history. He is an Association for Iron & Steel Technology Foundation (AIST) Steel Professor, has published over 100 papers on ferrous metallurgy and is a recipient of the SME outstanding young manufacturing engineer, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) medal finalist, the ASM Intl. Bronze medal and the SAE Ralph Teetor Educational award. He currently teaches thermodynamics and iron and steelmaking.
